What a satisfyingly great piece of filmmaking.

Super amazing performances by Shweta Tripathi, Sanjay Mishra, Richa Chadda and the newcomer Vicky Kaushal. Neeraj Ghaywan seems to be a very sorted-in-mind kind of a person to be able to make such a sublime film. The cinematography is spotlessly inspiring and to be put simply 'PERFECT'.
It is difficult to believe that we have such fimmakers making such films in India with such good performances by such good actors!
Shweta Tripathi is adorably cute and you just to keep looking at her. Vicky Kaushal has the 'boy-next-door' believability and he portrayed his character full of romance initially and angst later with such subtly and smoothness that from the first time you see him, you believe him. He needed some one like Shweta to complement his performance. Actually both of them have complimented each other so perfectly in the film that now I can't imagine any other actors doing their roles.
Richa Chadda plays 'Devi' and her character is so interesting to watch from the very first scene. Her's is a character which cannot be described easily. She lives in a small town, belonging to a rather seemingly conservative family where there is only her father played awesome-awesome-awesome Sanjay Mishra who is a priest-scholar. Devi is an educated young woman who is exploring her sexuality when she gets caught. Rest of the film is about the way she deals this matter with her father, everyone else and herself. Their is a guilt of sorts in her mind that she needs to deal with. She loves her father but their is something in their past that bothers her perhaps. Hers is a very pragmatic character who probably feels bogged down by the small town mentality and sensibilities of the small town that she lives in. Don't want to divulge much, you have to watch the film to try to understand her character.
Sanjay Mishra ji is simply put awesome. He 'acts' so effortlessly that I can't even call him an actor. Cos he just doesn't seem to be acting. He just becomes the character here. And he a delight to watch.
I need to congratulate the casting director of the film for a perfect magical cast. Even actors casted for Deepak's family are perfect and each actor was realistically believable.
Cinematography by Avinash Arun is just awesome. I loved the way he has lit the film. There is no extra, unnecessary lighting which gives the film a realistic look. I loved the shots which would be perhaps termed as under-lit in conventional mindsets. Cinematography was just what it was supposed to be. A great tool to visualize the director's thoughts and it did it wonderfully.
Editing by Nitin Baid was spot on. There is not a single moment in film where the film lags. Its cut crisply yet there is 'thairaav' where required.
Music was like cherries on the cake. Totally sweet! Totally delicious!
'Masaan' is a film that should, would inspire Indian filmmakers to do- away with all the extra glam-sham quotients of the typical Bollywood films. Films are all about story telling and this film does it perfectly. It is based in a very small town where there is nothing over-the-top in any manner. Real locations have been used and they look superb.
The film is full of metaphors and it makes you think. But maybe there isn't much to think, It can be a bit of an abstract film which also works if it doesn't bore you. This film doesn't bore you!
It really engages you!

I would give it up for Navazuddin Siddiqui
The guy has done a
great job in portraying a character no other actor (or I should rather
say, STAR) in the industry could ever have done. Him an Radhika Apte are
becoming my favorite actors the more I see of them.
Navazuddin brings Dashrath back to life, and what a life I must say. Thoroughly inspiring... Never have I seen such characterization and casting in any movies of recent times. Hats off to the direction and cinematographer for such a wonderful job they have done. 10 out of 10. What more could I say? Go watch it yourself..
PS: You would love every inch of the Mountain and every act of the Man.

Talvar is brilliantly
directed by Gulzar, and manages to tell two stories to the same murder
case. SHORT REVIEW-The performances were good as everyone plays their
part exceptionally well. Irrfan Khan stands out in his likable
character. he once again proves while he's the most versatile star these
days. the direction is award- worthy. BGM isn't quite noticeable as the
movie works best when there is silence! Plus points- + Irrfan Khan +

Drishyam: A Perfect movie for ending my tiring Thursday
Just came back from the
Premier Screening of Drishyam. The reason for me to catch the movie was
the reviews of the original Drishyam which is a Malyalam movie with
Mohanlal as the lead actor. The trailers of this Hindi remake with
powerful existence of Ajay Devgan (or Devgn, as he writes it now) and
Tabu, motivated me to go for this movie after a tiring Thursday in
office, (mentioning the tiring day as disappointment was the last this I
was willing to accept after the day, Glad I chose this movie). So the
movie starts with a small happy family of Vishal Salgaonkar which is
living happily in the ever happy town of Goa, there family was disrupted
because of an unwanted person entering into their lives who happens to
be the son of the Inspector general of Goa, Meera Deshmukh, then an
accident happens which changes the life of this family for ever. The way
this 4th grade failed person (Vishal) plays with the police department
is commendable. So the movie is about how actually Vishal safeguard his
family and himself against powerful Meera and her Police Department.
My special suggestion is to have patience and sit for the first half of the movie as nothing much will happen but the story will be built up. After the interval when you come back with that tub of popcorn, its then the real investigation and the never ending plot of Vishal to safeguard his family starts, the proceedings will sometimes give you goose bumps and at times you will expect something to happen which will not happen and hence the tag line of the move "Visuals Can Be Deceptive" The Camera work of the movie is good. it features some of the beautiful locations of Goa (I am not sure if all of that was Goa) The acting done by the whole Salgaonkar family is superb along with Tabu's never disappointing appearance in front of the camera. The movie has limited songs, Two, actually, if I remember correctly, but both the tracks are good and perfectly goes with the situation. The side characters in the movie are also done by good actors and so they mix in the screenplay very meticulously. Overall, Its 100% worth a watch on this weekend, so go ahead book your tickets and go for it, I am sure you wont be disappointed, specially people who like Ajay Devgn on screen should go for this movie for sure.

As delicious as Bengali Rasogulla
Director Mr.
#SoojitSircar has done wonderful job. He was very clear about the
emotions of every character. He has taken far ahead the script by his
visualization. Writer #JuhiChaturvedi breaks the all taught grammar of a
script but still succeeded to posses its soul. Hats off to her. She had
just an idea on the name of story but she developed this beautifully
which was not an easy work. Screenplay is good. Dialogues are sweet and
witty. Writing and direction are so gelled that it is hard to believe
that actually that is written by two persons. Both were creatively tuned
on the same note. This film is a great example that good rapport of
writer and director can even carry a very thin subject to an
entertaining flick. All characters are very real. You start believing
them very soon. Love scenes are realistic, unusual but project the
correct emotions. Film is slow but you still enjoy it throughout like
home made food. You will be wearing smile and sometimes burst in
laughter too. Brilliant performance by all actors is icing on the cake.
One can watch any film just for Mr. Amitabh Bachchan. He is par
excellence. Deepika Padukone is one of very fine actor, who can carry
very glamorous character as well as hard core real, authentic and girl
next door role with ease and conviction. Irrfan Khan is fabulous.
Moushumi Chatterjee and Raghuvir Yadav are very good. Music by Anupam
Roy and lyrics by Manoj Yadav and Anupam Roy are impressive.

I wonder why SRK does such movies. Is he that cheap now that he does such pieces of crap for money? then you see Irani in this movie, a brilliant actor and you wonder if Farah Khan touched their feet and begged them to do this movie for her.
Plus i think Mr. Bachan just died after watching the younger Bachan, Ashweriya must be thinking after watching this that she was better off marrying a clown. When you can do brilliant movies such as Guru why would you do such a pathetic movie.
All in all i will say, anyone who liked this movie probably has a lower IQ than a chimpanzee.
SO kindly don't watch this crap and please if you like this movie for heaven's sake get a life and grow up.

KHANtastic movie !!
This is one of the best
Bollywood movie I've seen so far. MNIK is awesome. Its a must watch for
every human being. Its a movie for humanity. The way Shahrukh Khan has
projected himself as an autistic patient is just awesome. Kudos to him.
This is by far his best acting. After this movie, he has proved why he
is called The King of Bollywood. He is in a league of his own. No one is
even close to him. I have loved the movie. You will not be able to take
away your eyes for a single minute in this 160mins movie. This is just
fabulous. Kajol as Mandira was awesome too. She had played an excellent
character and supported SRK very well. Their chemistry is to die for.
Few moments in the movie will make you cry. The way he goes to an only
Christian event and donates the money and says "Take this money for the
Africans who are not Christians, darling" is awesome. This movie will be
an all-time blockbuster. Go and Watch this movie !!

Priyanka acting was superb Bajirao Mastani a watch movie

great direction and music was superb Deepika looking beautiful location
screen great a must watch a movie for everyone in your life everything
is great go watch... Priyanka Chopra, on the other hand, is the better
performer of the two in this film. Priyanka's Kashibai loves her husband
to death. Each time Priyanka looks at Ranveer Singh her face lights up
like a brightly-lit skyline. When Bajirao falls in love with another
woman Kashibai doesn't surrender to destiny. She is no walkover. She
protests. She sneers. She is angry. But finally for the sake of her
husband's happiness and the larger good, she accepts the situation.
Kashibai teaches us the most important lesson of this film. Acceptance
of injustice is sometimes the opposite of cowardice. Priyanka conveys
all these emotions with near-flawless comprehension of her character's
inner world. This is her best to date.
Watch 3 idiots for a) amir khan's incredible acting b) intelligent and highly energatic screenplay & direction (Rajkumar Hirani has done it yet again!) c) amazing chemistry among actors, d) some of the best comedy scenes coming from Indian cinema in a long time and e) a heart warming story which keeps you spell binded right till the end.
I would rate it as among the best from amir khan (which obviously means among the very best from bollywood. I would also give a lot of credit to the director rajkumar hirani, who after this movie (and his previous munna bhai series) should rank as among the top in bollywood too. 9/10.
